Greenwood is the hub of a seven-county region comprising South Carolina’s freshwater coast, where small and large lakes are within a short drive from almost any part of the area. Uptown Greenwood is the heart of the Greenwood community. Several unique and locally owned restaurants, retail shops, and galleries are here. Uptown is also home to the Arts Council of GreenwoodThe Museum and the Greenwood Community TheaterThese three cultural organizations highlight Uptown’s newly formed Emerald Triangle Arts & Cultural District. Uptown Greenwood comes “ALIVE” from April through October with entertainment at various outdoor venues.

Greenwood’s climate is mild and seasonable, with an average temperature of 68 degrees. While the summers can be warm, the spring and fall exhibit mild temperatures and many days are filled with sunshine and beauty. Winters in Greenwood are comfortable, with very little precipitation or snow.
